2023 Grant Focus Area and Timeline


The Cosmopolitan Club of Philadelphia Giving Circle - a Donor Advised Fund of the Philadelphia Foundation - is pleased to announce that it is now accepting grant applications for its 2023 grant cycle. Applications are sought from nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations that support prevention and reduction of gun violence, both accidental and intentional, as it relates to youth and families in the Greater Philadelphia area. Our focus areas include the following:
  • Empowerment initiatives that involve at-risk youth
  • Community violence intervention
  • Street gang mediation
  • Youth activity programming in communities at high risk for gun violence
  • Conflict resolution programs that focus on reducing youth violence
  • Police community partnership programs
  • Faith-based Initiatives
  • Reduction of unauthorized gun access
  • Utilization of nationally successful intervention models
A single grant of $40,000 will be awarded to one organization. The duration of the grant cycle may occur over either a 12 month or 18 month period at the discretion of the needs of the organization. The application should state clearly whether a 12 month or 18 month grant is being requested.  If using an 18 month grant period, an interim report must be filed at 12 months.

Deadlines:
• Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023
• Finalists will be announced on Friday, March 31, 2023
• Finalist presentations will be on Wednesday, April 26, 2023
