The Cosmopolitan Club enjoys a proud tradition of presenting stimulating programs, special events, social activities and special-interest groups in a friendly, comfortable and intimate atmosphere.
As a new member, you will be greeted by a Club member who will make sure you meet other engaging women during the cocktail reception. You then will enjoy a program on any number of subjects ranging from art to cyber-terrorism, bankruptcy to politics or world history to women’s health; the subjects are limitless. Whether it is a lunch or dinner program, you have a choice of sitting with a friend or being assigned to a table with other members, giving you an opportunity to begin new friendships. Each year as many as 75 speakers--professors, scientists, museum curators, political figures, physicians, authors, playwrights, etc.--enlighten and entertain the audience.
Just as important as the dinner and lunch speaker programs are the special events and social activities. In the past we have had excursions to the 9/11 museum in New York, Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and Winterthur. Social activities include festive parties and themed dinners.
Any member can start a special-interest group and pursue a passion along with other members of like interest. Some of our Special-interest Groups are: Circolo Italiano, Table Française, Bridge Group, Book Groups, Mah Jongg, Film Group, Yoga and the Giving Circle. All of these programs serve to engage our membership in fun and interesting activities and are designed to enhance your Club experience.
