His passion for photography has intensified through his adept use of a digital camera. Everyday scenes and sights are shaped into icons signifying the uniqueness of each country and culture. top Michael Massee intertwines his love of acting with extensive experience in theatrical and scene design to create assemblages, collages, drawings and paintings of famous, and a few infamous, figures who have shaped our lives. This show features a sampling of his bright and celebratory biographic paintings. top Alex Pennington constructs unusual, one-of-a-kind jewelry, primarily necklaces, from her distinctive collection of gemstones and minerals. She has devoted many years as both volunteer and leader of events for the Philadelphia Orchestra, Shipley School and several charitable organizations, and her work has heretofore been presented only at such boutique venues until this showing at the Cosmopolitan Club. top Bob Deane is a potter and painter who was raised in the Media, PA-area. He earned a B.A. in Ceramics from Bloomsburg University in 1988 and has attended a weekend retreat with Shiho Kanzaki in Japan. His work has been shown in many local stores and galleries. Bob's work with local creek clays has been highlighted in the Philadelphia Inquirer and Art Matters He currently teaches at the Community Arts Center in Wallingford. Bob has been a member of the Wallingford Potter’s Guild since 1991 and co-founded the Big Mind Collective in 1998. top The Exhibition Committee Presents Mixed Media Paintings and Drawings by Karl Richard Olsen in the Dining Room Fiber Art by Trina Mansfield in the Salon Silver and Gold Jewelry by Sue Stone in the West Vitrines Fine Woodcraft by Jody Witte in the East Vitrines January 15 to February 19 Artists' Reception Friday, January 15 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Karl Richard Olsen captures physical movement in his exciting drawings and paintings using myriad materials. A cross-section of his impressive body of work will be on view as witness to his ever-changing reconfigurations with constant references to reality through his responses to daily life. top Trina Mansfield fashions tiny pieces of fabrics sewn together in a collage-like manner to construct large landscape and architecturally themed works. Her pictorial quilts delight the eye with detail, texture and color. top Sue Stone transforms silver, gold and gemstones into detailed, natural and abstract designs. This self-taught metalsmith often selects a particular gemstone to be the focal point of a given piece or uses nature as an inspiration. top Jody Witte selects exotic pieces of wood from his work as an arborist and then, guided by the wood's unique characteristics and grain, shapes one-of-a-kind bowls and containers. In turning these bowls, he strives to share the beauty, which does not belong to him but to the trees themselves. top |
